Would I Order Burger King’s Impossible Whopper Again? Possibly.
As a primarily plant-based eater, I'm fascinated by the range of options now popping up at many fast food and fast casual restaurants. So, obviously I felt compelled to try Burger King's Impossible Whopper. Overall thoughts? Well, it's--okay.
Now to be fair, I'm not a regular Whopper aficionado. So, I may not be the ideal person to make the best judgement on this offering. I appreciate the efforts made to incorporate more plant-based foods on the menus of our well-known and familiar eateries.
Personally, I try to not only keep my meat consumption to a moderately low level, true. However, I also aim to avoid dairy and "mystery condiments," too. But, I was out and about running errands the other day and I remembered hearing some friends chat about the Impossible Whopper so I decided to give it a go.
I placed my order and drove around to the window to pick up my reasonably-priced sandwich. I did have to pull around to the front door to wait for it. I'm not sure if they were just busy or if they don't receive many orders so there weren't any on hand. But that's okay. I don't mind waiting.
When I did receive it, I opened it up and planned to eat it in my car. Upon inspection, it looked fine. It wasn't necessarily the most appealing looking fast food burger, but all in all that's not the point. Taste-wise? Yeah it interesting. It definitely had that "Whopper taste." That flame-licked flavor for which BK is known was present. The consistency was pretty good, actually. The signature mayo and ketchup flavor was there, too.
Overall? I'd give it a B minus. Do I think regular Whopper-eaters would be impressed? I think so. Would I order the Impossible Whopper again? Possibly.
