A Major Fast-Food Chain’s Bold Move: U.S. Headquarters Shifts to Texas
A major fast-food chain is making a move to Texas. Though we are seeing quite a few businesses moving their headquarters to the Lone Star State, this one is moving away from the state that is its namesake.
KFC is moving its U.S. headquarters from Louisville, Kentucky to Dallas, Texas.
This shift should take place over the next year and will bring KFC closer to its parent company, Yum! Brands, which is already headquartered in Texas. But why such a huge decision?
What caused KFC to choose Dallas for its new headquarters?
Well, given that Yum! Brands is already here, it makes sense. According to a story from National Restaurant News, or NRN.com, this move is part of a broader plan to improve the company's operations and enable easier collaboration with Yum Brands, which also owns Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
On top of that, Dallas offers a robust, ideal business environment.

What's next for KFC and how will this move affect Louisville, Kentucky, its long-time home city?
This will be the end of an era for Louisville. After all, the brand has been rooted there since 1952. It is encouraging to hear the company is committed to helping its employees through the transition, offering either relocation assistance or severance packages, depending.
For KFC, this is a new chapter.
The move to Texas offers KFC the chance to better position the company for ongoing success since it'll be closer to the key decision-makers located in a thriving business environment.
