Taco Bell In East Texas Now Offers New Vegetarian Menu
The plant-based fast food phenomenon continues. Taco Bell recently announced a new selection of vegetarian options on the menu. I'd heard about the national trend, but I wasn't sure it had spread our way so I called to confirm, which the very nice lady on the phone did. Thanks, Tasha. :)
In reality, it's always been simple to order a vegetarian meal off of the menu. I mean, many of their items are already meat-free. How many different combinations can YOU make out of tortillas, taco shells, beans, lettuce, tomato, and cheese?
The difference is simply that they've added two new permanent items to the menu:
The Black Bean Crunchwrap Supreme and Black Bean Quesarito
Altpress.com shares thoughts from Taco Bell's Global Chief Food Innovation Officer, Liz Reed who says “at Taco Bell, we believe that vegetarian food shouldn’t be a compromise; it shouldn’t be limited to one item, and it shouldn’t be just for vegetarians. For years, we’ve consistently proven that our vegetarian menu options are so crave-able that even non-vegetarians unknowingly go veggie because they just love the taste. We’re committed to building on this insight and plan to further innovate in this growing space.”
As a mostly plant-based lover of Taco Bell, I for one, am grateful.
