This weekend sons and daughters in Tyler, Palestine, Jacksonville, Mt. National recording artists, The Powell Brothers to take the Downtown LIVE Heritage Plaza stage for a free concert, on Friday, May 10 at 5 pm. Bring a friend or two and enjoy live Texas music, food trucks, beverages, vendors, face painting, and more. Please bring your own seating!


Tops In Texas Rodeo

Jacksonville Rodeo Arena - Jacksonville

Rodeo season is here. This is the 62nd year for the rodeo that features 3-nights of entertainment with tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, bull riding, bronc riding, and more along with live entertainment. This is a fun event for the entire family with profits benefitting Jacksonville area charitable endeavors. This is a ticketed event.

Piney Woods Wine Festival

Cannery Row - Lindale

It will be a weekend of wine tasting and fun in downtown Lindale. It's the perfect event for wine enthusiasts. There is also live music, great food and shopping. This is a ticketed event.

It'll be a 'Good Old Fashion' race through Rose Rudman Park and Trail. There is a registration fee for this event.

The Longview Jaycees Trade Days will be held at the Longview Convention Complex Exhibit Center. Vendors of all kinds come to buy, sell, trade, and swap. Admission and parking are free. Longview Jaycees Trade Days are held the second weekend of every month, with the exception of September.

Spring Fling Adoption Event @ Smith County Animal Control & Shelter

We are having a Spring Fling adoption event here at our shelter. We would love to see everyone spring out of their beds and come to our shelter. We have so many dogs in our shelter that would love to run around and have a loving home.

Our adoption fee will be FREE that is right Free adoptions, so you do not want to miss it. Also, if you do rent then we do ask that you bring your lease agreement, if you stay on a family property bring a note stating the animal is allowed on that property.
