Two East Texas girls were trying to raise money for their dad for Father's Day, and police shut down their lemonade stand for operating without a permit. Then the internet got involved! People Magazine is running with the story now.Andria and Zoey are 7 and 8 years old, and wanted to take their dad to Splash Kingdom for Father's Day, but a code enforcement officer in Overton caught them and shut them down.

Are permits for lemonade stands really necessary? It appears so. Operating without one is against health regulations.

We can tell these girls are very resourceful and creative! What an interesting way to punch their own ticket to a water park, offering to raise the funds and give Dad the opportunity to take them.

Nice work girls, nice work. Something tells me you're going to be headed to Splash Kingdom no matter what, and just about anywhere else you want to go this summer with all the positive buzz surrounding you.

Here's the rest of the story.

The girls are going to set up another lemonade stand, and this time they'll ask for donations. If they're a nonprofit, apparently that gets them out of the requirement for a permit.

And now that they've been on the news in East Texas, and their story has run in People Magazine, they just may have a crowd, and make more money than they ever thought possible.

Look out Splash Kingdom -- here they come.
