It's that time of the year when families all across the US return home to visit family here in East Texas. We'll all be gathering around the dinner table and gorging on all kinds of 'Thanksgiving food', visiting, watching some football, and trying to rest as much as we can.

Many families come with kids and those kids must be entertained. After the newness of grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles wears off they'll be on their devices connecting with friends back home, and then all of a sudden a parent hears the phrase,

"I'm bored. There's nothing to do around here."

Now no matter how hard you try to keep them entertained, whether it's playing corn hole outside, Monopoly, Phase 10, or some other game, they are going to get bored. Thankfully everyone is in East Texas, because there are plenty of activities and options for fun things to do with the kids and to get them out of the house.

Some activities can even help them burn off the excess kid energy and help them go to sleep sooner too!

There are quite a few fun things to do when you hear that dreaded, 'I'm bored' phrase.

As a parent myself, I have heard that phrase come out of my child's mouth sometimes. So when a digital device or streaming program can't keep the boredom phrase from being said, here are some suggestions so you can jump into action quickly before there is a huge meltdown.
