Those cute superheroes, ghosts, zombies, ghouls, movie characters, athletes, cheerleaders, princesses, dinosaurs, cows, nurses, doctors, police officers, firefighters, and other creative costumes will be expecting some kind of candy treat to be deposited into their bucket, bag or pillowcase!

Now, the Holy Grail of trick-or-treating is discovering that one house, or others, are passing out full-sized candy bars! It doesn't matter what it is. It could be a Butterfinger, bag of Skittles, Snickers, 3 Musketeers, Kit Kat, or even those famous Reese's peanut butter cups.

When you find the full-sized house you've struck GOLD!

In reality, though, many kids will get the snack or bite-sized because times are expensive and inflation is outrageous so snack and bite-sized is all many homeowners can afford to give out!

Those kids will be running door-to-door, accompanied by their parents, with their receptacles wanting that big haul. While you're dropping pieces of candy into those plastic pumpkin buckets you may notice several other colors besides the traditional orange.

Those different colored pumpkins have a special meaning to them.

If you are handing out candy you can signify to those trick-or-treating or to the parents of children that you have alternate options available for their child by displaying a teal pumpkin at your door.  Those kids can be treated to a more non-traditional item like pencils, stickers, glow sticks, or other non-food treats.

After all every child who goes out trick-or-treating wants to have some fun, dress up, and come back with enough candy to last them until next Halloween!
