Celebrate Freedom July 4 In Longview With A Festival & Fireworks
Wow. Pause with me for a moment, if you will. Together let's first contemplate the fact that we are already about to celebrate July 4th, 2019. ...(freaks out because time is clearly flying.) OK, moving on.
Now that we've worked through that, I do have to say July 4th is one of my favorite times of year. It's probably the day I personally feel is the climax of the summer. There's something about gathering as a community, reflecting on something that is bigger than each of us, and joins us all together as one. The celebratory nature of the day, the food and time spent with loved ones all contribute, of course. Yet the signature highlight for many of us continues to be the FIREWORKS! *cue dramatic patriotic music.*
We'll be highlighting some of the fireworks celebrations around in East Texas in the next few days. One we're definitely looking forward to is Longview's '4th of July Fireworks and Freedom Celebration' taking place at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex. Thursday, July 4th in Longview will offer an entire day of fun starting at 11 a.m. with the firework show starting at 9:30 p.m. Offerings throughout the day include a variety of entertainment such as activities for the kiddos, amusement rides, and you can enjoy an outdoor concert featuring Uncle Kracker for FREE just prior to an incredible firework show.
The festival and firework show also offer free admission. However, do know there may be some costs depending on the individual activities you choose. Also, the City of Longview will not allow outside coolers or BYOB of any kind.
