We've all had those days. You're waist-deep in work and can't get away for lunch. Then the hangry sets in.

- or -

You're sitting at home, nice and comfy, and you need to get some dinner but don't want to get out of your pajamas.

These are just a couple of likely scenarios where the new WaitrApp - a delivery app developed in Lake Charles in 2014 - can help out and it just has been live in Longview since May 4 and the Tyler app will be live on August 31. One of our stations, Mix 93.1 will be by Rotolo's in Cumberland Village to celebrate the grand opening between 5-7 p.m.

It's a free app that will connect you with participating restaurants so you can make an order from your desk or couch and have it delivered to you.

The extra bonus is it spans across more than just restaurants that deliver as it's a delivery app itself. The menus generally have great photos of what you're ordering, you can customize orders to your stomach's desire and there's a flat fee of ($4.99 in Baton Rouge), which is less than a few other delivery options out here.

Here are a few places I'm going to tap at some point that's on the app:

  • Jucy's
  • Newk's
  • Posados
  • The Catch
  • Mercado's
  • Aspen Creek

It's only Day 1 but there'll be a lot more to choose from as they get settled in Tyler. If only we could get this to work for turkey legs or funnel cakes during fair season.
