I have spent many a lazy New Year's Day. Particularly after a later night than usual, who doesn't enjoy just chilling out and pondering the new year. However, there is something particularly motivating and momentum-creating about starting the new year being physically engaged. It sets a tone. It says, "this year, I'm going to get out and achieve what I want to accomplish."  After all, you can always come home later and chill out. And ya know, after getting some exercise, you'll feel so much better while you're doing it. Ready to run full speed ahead into 2019?

One of your New Year's Resolutions may include getting more exercise and living a more active lifestyle. What a great way to get an jump start, while benefiting The Salvation Army of Tyler, in the first ever "Kettle Krush" 5K on New Year's Day in downtown Tyler.

In case you're planning a later night out than usual, thankfully, there's a later start time. The race is 10 a.m. to noon. You can register online here. If you need to register at the race, make plans to do so from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Packet pickup will be available during this same time window.

Happy New Year!
