All the animals in the shelter deserve to be loved despite their age. Of course, cute puppies get all the attention, but it's the older dogs that will bring so much joy to your life because they've lived a little life themselves.

This week's Pet Of The Week is five-year-old Cheyenne. Cheyenne is a hound mix that is currently available for adoption from Pets Fur People in Tyler.

Cheyenne is a bit of a bigger dog, coming in a 75 pounds, she's almost six years old and has been living at Pets Fur People for a little over two months now. She entered the shelter in early July. According to Pets Fur People's executive director Gayle Helms, Cheyenne is shy until she trusts you, and then she's a ball of energy once the trust has been established.

After trust, get ready for a sweet and playful girl that has so much love to share with a new owner if just given the chance. Gayle believes that Cheyenne would thrive as a member of a family with older children.

She will go home with a starter kit of food, a collar and leash and a certificate for half-price basic obedience training from Tyler Obedience Training Club.
