Parker Is Intelligent, Alert, Energetic And Looking For Love

If you're thinking about adding a dog to your family and you're looking for a breed that isn't just intelligent but alert too, then you need to pay a visit to the Humane Society's Pets Fur People in Tyler and meet up with Parker. Parker is this week's Pet Of The Week and not only is he intelligent, he's alert and comes to life thanks to his bountiful energy.

While at first, he may be a bit skittish, a trait of a Plott Hound, Parker will warm up and that love he has stored up inside will just flow out.

According to the American Kellen Club, the Plott Hound is an intelligent, alert, and confident breed. The breed can be tail-wagging, and people-loving but at the same time standoffish. As pups, this breed should be exposed to a wide variety of people and other animals, something that appears not to have been done early on with Parker.

This black and orange coated guy is almost two years old and he's available for adoption from Pets Fur People in Tyler. He weighs about thirty-five pounds and is super energetic and loves to play chase and fetch.

Parker can be a bit timid, but Pets Fur Peoples's executive director Gayle Helms says that after a little love and attention, he is a trusting guy. He is looking to be placed in a household that has older children because of his energy level.

Parker will go home with a starter kit of food, a collar and a leash.
