Everyone loves a good story--especially when it's true. Stories are part of what make us human. They connect us and bring life to our communities. East Texans have so many stories to tell. Thanks to a group known as The Tyler Loop, you can spend an evening at the Liberty Hall in downtown Tyler listening to many of these stories.

They will be presented to us by Tylerites, telling their stories in their own words, with the help of some local area musicians.  The Tyler Loop Facebook page tells us the stories range from "silly and serious, fun and fearless, and reveal something real about life in our region."

For a group whose overall mission is "to help Tylerites develop a shared and informed understanding of challenges and opportunities in our diverse and growing region," an event like this is a perfect expression of that mission. The mission for the evening? To inspire and inform, while also planting seeds in the hearts and minds of East Texans that will hopefully lead to other stories that our neighbors have to share.

The Tyler Loop presents 'Out of the Loop: True Stories About Life in Tyler and East Texas,' Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at Liberty Hall in Downtown Tyler.

The last we heard, the event was very close to selling out--so act quickly. However if you find it is, you may want to connect with the group's Facebook page and learn more about upcoming events.

What a great way to learn more about your neighbors and fellow East Texans. I hope to see more of these in the future.
