National Safe Boating Week Kicks Off this Weekend with Events in Texas [VIDEO]
Boating is fun, but it is not without risk. Each year, approximately 500 people drown from recreational boating accidents. According to the U.S. Coast Guard, Texas ranks among the top 5 states for number of boating fatalities and boating accidents.
With summer approaching and more people spending time on the water, it’s important to remember boating safety.
The National Safe Boating Council is kicking off its national campaign promoting safe boating and life jacket safety this weekend with National Safe Boating Week, which runs from May 19-25. Local kick-off events are taking place across Texas this Saturday: http://www.readysetwearit.com/join-event/usa-events/
