Search Continues For Missing East Texas Police K9
San Augustine County K9 officer Army was let out for a bathroom break on the morning of June 19, 2024. An animal caught his attention near his residence during the break before his duty shift.
He flushed the unknown animal into a wooded area on HWY 87 near Crockett Lane. Army is now at large somewhere in that area.
If you see Army, do not approach, as this is a trained animal with a record of catching criminals. Call the San Augustine County Sheriff's Office at 936-275-2424.

On July 3, 2022, Army was deployed in the line of duty. He successfully apprehended Jimmy Allen during a traffic stop.
The suspect had many outstanding warrants for burglary and theft of firearms. Allen and Morgan Nickens were both arrested.
The bite marks in the photos show Army at work. The Sheriff's office is serious about not approaching him if found, and now you know why.
San Augustine County Police Dog Hit By Car In 2022
On July 4, 2022, the San Augustine Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help to locate K9 Officer Frankie. She broke out of her kennel and was missing in Lufkin, Texas.
Frankie was ultimately found deceased, struck by a vehicle three miles away from her home in Lufkin. Frankie served with Army before her disappearance and death.
