If you are a lover of movies, there's a good chance you've at least appreciated the music of Hans Zimmer. Often, music composers don't receive the attention that tends to be reserved for the actors on the silver and small screens. Ironically, it's the composers of these glorious soundtracks that create a significant part of the mood and drama and tone of our favorite movies and TV shows. Long gone are the days of Mozart, when composers were true stars. They deserve to be, though.

For example, the movie Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott, is one of my all-time favorite movies. One of the things that makes it so irresistible to me is the music. You may not even remember it, but I bet there's a good chance it affected you while you were watching the movie.

Or how about The Last Samurai starring Tom Cruise? The Lion King, Inception, or The Dark Knight? All were fortunate enough to have the genius of Hans Zimmer and his team on those scores.

So, the other evening I was beyond delighted to find his new special Hans Zimmer: Live in Prague on Netflix the other evening. It's like watching a movie soundtrack come alive--or rather various soundtracks--all knit together like the chapters in a story. I can't recommend enough.

Please make sure that your speakers are working so you can take in the entire experience properly. What an incredible group of musicians. Enjoy.
