‘Freedom In The Park’ In Whitehouse On Memorial Day, May 25
Memorial Day- It's a day to remember and revere those who made the ultimate sacrifice in active military service. So, while we are right to revere and hold sacred space for these fallen heroes, it is also a day to gather and celebrate what they fought so hard to protect, our freedom.
I love that we gather together in our communities around East Texas, in our downtowns and in our squares, to remember and spend time in grateful celebration of what they made possible for you and me.
One such event will be taking place at the Whitehouse City Park, 309 E. Main Street, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Some of the activities taking place include a car show, lots of activities for the kids--games, bounce houses, and the Splash Park will be open until 6 p.m. There will also be local vendors, concessions, live music, and when the sun goes down--fireworks. :)
The event is free and open to the public. Although on this day, we remember that freedom itself is never free.
"We Remember You."
