Children’s Health Fair Offers Flu Shots At Tyler Public Library
East Texas is fortunate to have some incredible public libraries throughout our region. Many of us are aware they provide books, media resources, and educational opportunities to our residents. However, they can also form important partnerships with organizations and vendors that offer programs and information critical to the needs of our fellow citizens.
The Tyler Public Library is teaming up with the Children's Defense Fund to host the “Connecting Kids To Coverage” Health and Resource Fair, this Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 10:30 a. m. to 1:15 p.m. at 201 South College Street in downtown Tyler. Door prizes and refreshments will be available for attendees, and community vendors will be present, as well.
NET Health will offer free flu shots to kids who have Medicaid/CHIP, but make sure to bring your card when you come. Otherwise, private pay flu shots for adults are $25 and uninsured kids can receive a flu shot for $10.
There will also be free assistance in applying for Medicaid/CHIP. In order to do so, please make sure to bring these items with you:
1. Proof of your identity, and a social security number for any who want to apply
2. Proof of your income, via a check stub or tax return
3. A utility bill that reflects the current address
