I've been on a health kick for the past eight or nine months and I'm signed up for a bunch of "healthy" newsletters via email. Today's email was on weird food cures and a couple of them caught my attention - including eating asparagus to prevent a hangover!

Eat asparagus to cure a hangover:

Asparagus contains enzymes that breaks down alcohol. Eat some before a night of heavy drinking to prevent a hangover - or even eating some the day after can help relieve the symptoms of a hangover!

Prevent kidney stones with lemonade:

Lemon juice has high levels of citrate. Citrate helps dissolve any calcium deposits that will eventually turn into kidney stones!

Hold off a cold with yogurt:

Yogurt contains good bacteria that can increase your immune system. In fact, those good bacteria have been associated with a 42% lower risk for getting upper respiratory infections like colds!

Beef liver can help with a headache:

Beef liver is a good source of the B vitamin riboflavin, which helps reduce the frequency of migraine headaches.
