The fair and festival scene is alive and well in East Texas this weekend. Thursday marks the opening of the Texas State Forest Festival in Lufkin and the East Texas State Fair opens it 10-day run on Friday in Tyler.

If you're looking for a live music festival, then you must check out the inaugural Green Street Monster Festival happening in downtown Longview. This festival is all about the bridge that eats big rigs, delivery trucks, and cement trucks for lunch!

Texas State Forest Festival

George Henderson Exposition Center - Lufkin

Competitions are abundant at the Texas State Forest Festival along with the carnival rides and live shows featuring the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, Off Axis Stunt Show, Scott's World Of Magic, cars show, bbq competition, and many other competitions, plus there's a 5k run, wood carving display, and so much more. East Texas State Fair

The East Texas State Fair has a new location this year - The Park at East Texas is the new home of the East Texas Fair. Located at 11315 Hwy. 64 W, outside of Loop 323 in Tyler. This year's fair is packed with rides, food, vendors, and live entertainment. Pig races, petting zoo, freestyle motocross show, glass blowing, concerts featuring Cody Canada and the Departed, Josh Ward, 80s Mix Tape, and more! Gladewater Arts & Crafts Festival 2024
