
Smith County Teen Found Safe After Being Taken to California
(Smith County, Texas) A missing teen girl has been located, is safe, and on her way back to Smith County from California.
It is always fantastic news when a missing child or missing person is located and they get safely reunited with their family. The Smith County Sheriff's Office has been searching for 15-year-old runaway Abby Morales since July 26th. She was picked up by a suspect and transported across state lines and tracked down in Anaheim, California.
How Law Enforcement Located Abby
After receiving tips, the Smith County Sheriff's office worked closely with the Anaheim Police Department, where they were able to locate Abby Morales with a suspect in Placentia, California, and arrested her alleged abductor and removed her from harm's way.
Charges Facing the Suspect
The suspect, 21-year-old Brian Chavez, was arrested by the Anaheim Police Department and charged with three counts involving sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 16. Once returned to Smith County, Chavez will face additional charges in Smith County.
Abby Morales Is Headed Home
Thankfully, this missing teen story has a great ending, and she will be returned to East Texas soon.

Missing Bullard Teen: Abby Morales
Meanwhile, the Smith County Sheriff's Office is looking for a 15-year-old missing teen. Abby Grace Morales is missing from the Bullard area of Smith County. According to the sheriff's office, Abby Morales is a runaway who was last seen around 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 26th.
Morales is described as white Hispanic, with brown hair, brown eyes, and standing 5'7" and weighing 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing shorts and a gray shirt.
The sheriff's office believes she could have left her residence on County Road 173 in an Uber.
The Smith County Sheriff's Office is also looking for a man of interest who may have connections with this missing teen.
