Tyler's Main Street Department is working on revitalizing downtown, and all you have to do to pitch in and help is drink a little wine.

Sounds easy enough!  I'm sure you could drink some water too if that's your thing. Point is, the Wine Swirl is coming up this weekend, and they just announced the winning local artist who will go on the event posters. Several East Texas wineries will have the fruits of their labor highlighted during the event.

The winning work of art is “Bon Vivant,” by Tyler artist Dace Lucia Kidd.  What it looks like is under wraps so far, and will be uncovered this Saturday at the Wine Swirl in downtown Tyler.

A Wine Swirl is basically a mixer, where you swirl from restaurant to restaurant sampling different wines and foods that pair up well with it. They've done the pairing work for us!   Kiepersol Winery of Tyler, Pelle Legna of Tyler, Perrine Winery of College Station, and Texas Vineyard and Smokehaus of Palestine are among the wineries that will be part of it.

Tickets are $50 per person, and those 21 and up can get them at Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin, or online at TylerWineSwirl.com.
