Study Reveals Owning a Dog Can Help You Live Longer
You should totally get a dog... You know, for your health.
Are you a dog owner? Maybe you own multiple dogs. I got one little nugget in my home who doesn't even weigh 10 pounds. I'm not sure that counts, but he's a spunky lil' morkiepoo named Oliver and we just can't get enough of him. Dogs brig so much joy, love, and companionship to your life.
And they also come with some health benefits.
Obviously owning a dog may make you more active as you take them out for walks or run with them in the park. However, a new study (as reported in WebMD) says that owning a pooch could extend your life. Dogs can lower our risk of an early death by as much as 24 percent when compared to those who don't own a dog. In addition, dogs owners are 65 percent less likely to die after a heart attack and have a 31 percent reduced risk of dying from heart disease.
Those are some serious, life-saving reductions. I guess if you've ever been on the fence about getting a dog or not, you definitely should consider it. Obviously I'm a little bias, but it sounds like you should do it for your health!
