Food Network’s Paula Deen Opening Two Restaurants in Texas
When she was on Food Network, Paula Deen was known as a queen of southern cookin', and she's always had a lock on Georgia with a Savannah-based restaurant. Now two Paula Deen restaurants are coming to Texas, and they'll open up in a few weeks.
Paula Deen's Family Kitchen will include all of the things you might expect, like southern fried chicken, spare ribs and fried catfish, and the first one is opening in early 2018 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to Dallas News. If you haven't dined at this restaurant before, here's what you need to know. It's Family Style, which means multiple entrees are ordered and passed around the table. And you can eat as much as you'd like.
It'll be at the Fairview Town Center on the northeast corner of North Central Expressway and Stacy Road in Fairview, near Allen and McKinney. Stores at the shopping center include Whole Foods, J.C. Penney, Dillard's and Macy's.
Paula Deen has been working on podcasts and merchandise lines since parting with Food Network in 2013, after facing criticism over racially insensitive comments. Have you missed her TV show? I have. Nobody made use of butter and gravy quite like Paula Deen, and I'm happy to see she's bringing that flavor to Texas. We can always use more comfort food.
After the Dallas area restaurant opens next spring, a San Antonio location will open about a month after that. And other locations are in the works too, so now would be a good time to start a social media campaign to bring one of Paula Deen's Family Kitchens to Tyler or Longview.
