Open Auditions For ‘The Mark Twain Show’ January 27 & 28 In Tyler
If I were to ask you to pull out that old bucket list you wrote three, five, or maybe even twenty years ago, would I find "audition for a play" on that list? Maybe not you, but perhaps someone you know? In fact, maybe it was on your New Year's list of resolutions for 2020?
Whatever the case, the greatest adventures of our lives begin with the first step--even a small one. Perhaps this could be yours?
The Tyler Civic Theatre is holding auditions on January 27 and 28, at 7 p.m., for the upcoming show. "'The Mark Twain Show' is an artful array of Twain's most humorous writings, wittiest quotes and even some of his most gripping drama."
The show itself will run in March with a running time of about 35 to 40 minutes. The casting is somewhat flexible. They're looking for 3, two male and one female. However, due to the nature of the show, it could be adapted for a larger cast. So if you're love Mark Twain and/or have interest in giving acting a go--go for it!
Now, I understand if you're thinking "I've never done anything like that before. I don't know the first thing about an audition." Well, my friend, there's a first time for everything. Whether or not you are cast, the experience of auditioning is itself enriching and it'll make you braver, I promise. ;) If you are cast in a role, you'll have plenty of rehearsals to get ready for the shows.

Oh, and as the old theatre tradition goes, may I say: Break a leg! (Not literally, of course.)
