What’s With The Mysterious Letters On The Olive Garden Breadstick?
Most recently, thinly sliced onions on McDonald's Big Mac sandwiches have been recalled, followed by organic carrots, ground beef, prepared Caesar salad, eggs, and now cucumbers that are being recalled for the potential of listeria and E. coli.
Food safety is on consumer's minds right now. So when people go out to eat in Tyler, Texas they're paying more attention to what's in their food and what it's come in contact with.
As we're paying more attention to our food, one TikTok user noticed something very unusual when they were served a basket of breadsticks while dining at Olive Garden last month.
It's a mystery that has since taken over social media.

The letters 'O', 'K' and the number '6' appeared to be printed on a breadstick as if it was some kind of serial number or date code!
Since the video went viral it has been viewed more than 4 million times and thousands of comments have been left on why the breadstick would be branded like that. Comments from former employees to armchair quarterbacks are chiming in on the markings.
Someone at Olive Garden was alerted to the situation and made the following request to the TikTok user:
A few days later the TikTok creator posted the following follow-up:

It appears as if Olive Garden made good on this breadstick wonder, they sent the TikTok user a $100 gift card to use!
The mystery remains though, how did those letters and numbers get on the Olive Garden breadstick? Now I'm going to be paying close attention to my breadsticks next time I'm there for spaghetti and meatballs and maybe I'll get lucky and receive a $100 gift card too!
