My Progress Watching The Walking Dead for the First Time Part 5
I talked a while back about how I had never watched The Walking Dead. Yes, I know, I need to turn over my nerd card. But during the quarantine, I fired up Netflix and started binge watching the series. Here are my thoughts as I just started season seven.
THERE WILL BE SOME SPOILERS SO STOP NOW IF YOU HAVE NEVER WATCHED AND WERE THINKING ABOUT STARTING TO WATCH.
I usually don't throw "hate" out into the universe but I have never felt so much hate for a fictional character as I did when I saw what Negan did. I was sad that he killed Abraham. I liked him but he wasn't one of my favorites. But to kill Glenn after Daryl landed a deserved right hand to Negan's face was the worse moment I've had watching a show I've grown to love.
Glenn is in my top three favorite characters, Michonne is my favorite, Glenn then Rick (even though it seems Rick is unhinged more than stable.) It was a sweet moment, even though Glenn's left eye was almost falling out, that he looked to Maggie and said "I love you." You gotta feel bad for Maggie, too, losing her sister, then Hershel and now Glenn while she's pregnant.
I posted my thoughts on Facebook and some friends who have watched the show said that Negan is one of their favorite characters and that The Governor was worse. I don't see how Negan will ever be a favorite of mine, especially after what he has done.
After watching that episode I'm still mad and want to jump through the screen and strangle Negan. I'll calm down and get back to it eventually.
