How Cute: Check Out One Of The Smallest Buc-ee’s In Texas
We all know about the world-famous Buc-ee's gas stations. You don't? Well, allow us to explain. Buc-ee's is one of the largest if not the largest gas stations and stores in the United States. Most of the Buc-ees are massive and a must-stop when traveling around the interstates. A typical Buc-ee's is around 68,000 square feet. That is huge.
It has become sort of a tourist destination. People love to stop at the store and take pictures with the brass beaver in front of the store, take a picture in front of the store with the sign, and love shopping in the store.
Yes, we said shopping because Buc-ee's isn't your typical convenience store. Most of them are massive with sometimes 50 lanes of just gas pumps. Check out that row of gas pumps below. It's huge.
Add to that, a full-on clothing store, food court, and the cleanest bathrooms you will ever see, and you can understand why people love to stop at the popular destination. You can see how big the store is above. A typical Buc-ee's is around 68,000 square feet. That is huge.
Now with that being said, have you ever seen a small Buc-ee's? Did you know that they exist? They do and here is the proof. We were driving through South Houston when a convenience store that had a Buc-ee's sign on it which of course caught our eye. We thought to ourselves, there is no way that is an actual Buc-ee's but sure enough it was.
The store was the size of a typical convenience store, no bigger. The one we found is located at 780 TX-35 in Alvin, Texas which is located in the South Houston area. Check it out.
How crazy is that? We are so used to the massive ones and to find this small one made us say we didn't know they even had some that small. From what we understand, there are two additional small Buc-ee's in Texas too. One of the massive ones close to us is located in Baytown, Texas off of I-10.
Fun fact about the Buc-ee's signs. Have you ever looked at the top of the letters? There are a bunch of wires sticking up on it. It looks like whiskers lol but this is really what they are for. Check it out here.
