In East Texas This Weekend You Can Watch Monster Trucks, Go to the Fair and More!
Now that summer is over, and (hopefully) the temperature has dropped a teensy bit, we're hoping to see some more outdoor events happening throughout East Texas.
This weekend has no shortage of BIG events including the Gregg County Fair, Monster Truck Fall Nationals, Hit the Bricks, taco tours and more! The hard part will definitely be deciding between some of these.
Saddle up the kids and get ready for the 68th Annual Gregg County Fair at Longview Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are open starting Friday and ends Saturday, September 16.
On Saturday, KNUE sponsors the night with buy one, get one free from 4 to 6 pm.
Mix 931 sponsors Saturday, September 16 (BOGO) and Hot 1073 Jamz sponsors Thursday, September 14 with $20 armbands for rides.
Check out the entire schedule and pricing on their website.
It might be loud but it's worth it. Cheer on Bigfoot, Raisin Kane, Xtermagator and more at the Monster Truck Fall Nationals. Bonus points: Cody Wayne is playing a live show too!
You can buy tickets here.
Maybe you want to drive somewhere to get your weekend distraction on. This is a Dallas food tour specializing in tacos and margaritas. You'll be transported via motorcoach so you can drink. Plus there's food and beverages on the bus!
Check out ticket prices here.
If Hit the Bricks isn't your thing, maybe downtown the following morning is more your scene. Have some coffee from Coffee Outside Tyler and check out what the locals have brought in to admire.
Ok, so it's not quite the weekend, but Thursday's the new Friday right? I had to include this on our list because I go to this with my pup every month. It's a lot of fun! You and your pup get to make new friends, eat treats (human and doggie) and have some local brews (just you, no doggie).
Check out more info on their Facebook page.
If you're excited to watch the new version of IT, then you probably need help. And this kind of event is probably right up your alley! Why not watch the terrifying clown movie while at a circus?
That's what Alamo Drafthouse Dallas/Fort Worth (Richardson) is doing on opening night. The movie you have to pay for, but the circus is free!
Calling all dancers ages 6 and up!
TJC Academy of Dance will be holding auditons for our 29th annual Nutcracker performances Saturday September 9th. We have over 100 roles to fill!
Here's their event page for all the details you'd need.
Try something different and take part in the first ever Geek Street event. There will be vendors, cosplayers, bounce houses, face painting, demos and much more! Proceeds will benefit the Center for Affordable Prosthetics.
