George Strait said he was going to do what he can to help with Harvey victims and he's following through. mySA reported Tuesday morning that Strait's show in San Antonio will be live across five TV networks as part of a major telethon to help victims in Texas.

Some of the big names scheduled to perform in this telethon include my two favorite Texans - Strait and Matthew McConaughey - as well as performances from Beyoncé, Blake Shelton, Tori Kelly, Barbra Steisand and Karlie Kloss. There are a ton of more celebrities (like Oprah!) who will be joining listed on Rolling Stone.

The event is called "Hand in Hand". In a statement by ABC, they said:

Hand in Hand’s' goal is to bring the country together to raise funds, spirits and help rebuild Texas in the wake of Harvey’s unprecedented devastation.

The five stations broadcasting the benefit are ABC, CBS, FOX, CMT and NBC and will be streamed live on Facebook on September 12 from 7-8 pm Central Time.

Proceeds will go to [mySA]:

  • United Way of greater Houston
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Save the Children
  • Direct Relief
  • Feeding Texas
  • The Mayor's Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief (launched by the Greater Houston Community Fund)

ABC News says the live show will be produced by the same team responsible for the benefit concert that helped victims of the terrorist attack in Manchester, England with Ariana Grande. That concert raised over $4 million.
