Small businesses are about to get some well-deserved love, along with the opportunity to connect online with things that could give the business a big boost.

National Small Business Week is coming up, and that will be a great chance for those of us who like to shop to do it locally and help a hard-working, risk-taking small business owner get a little closer to a goal. It takes guts to take a risk and start a business, and a lot of grit to make it successful, and National Small Business Week May 5th through 11th could help get them to the next level.

Anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit can connect with opportunities.  The US Small Business Administration and SCORE Association will host a free, 2-Day Virtual Conference Tuesday, May 7 and Wednesday, May 8. Registration is free and it gets you into webinars based on the topics you like and allows you to connect with other business owners and chat with industry experts, according to the SBA. Anyone can sign up.  Throughout the year, the SBA can help connect you with resources to launch a business, manage it, and grow it so it's a good site to keep bookmarked.

I would love to mention your small business on the air next week, so please drop me a line if you get time.  (jaustin@townsquaremedia.com)  And thanks for listening at work!  We know it's not always easy, and thanks for doing what you do.  Hopefully, Small Business Week gives you just the boost you've been looking for.

And if you're looking for a good reason to shop, this will be it.  Just helpin' a neighbor, that's all.  Have fun.
