It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Downtown Tyler, and on Thursday evening you can experience all of Tyler's Downtown Museums free of charge during their annual Holiday Open House event.

Each year on the first Thursday in December, Downtown Tyler cultural hot spots open their doors to the public from 4-8 pm, to share Holiday cheer. Just look for the giant snowmen, greeting you at each location.

The Goodman-LeGrand Museum, Cotton Belt Depot, Innovation Pipeline, Discovery Science Place, Gallery Main Street, the Smith County Historical Society, Tyler Public Library, and the McClendon House will all open free of charge.

Liberty Hall will also present the Christmas Classic, White Christmas starting at 7 pm. Tickets are $5, and can be purchase online at LibertyTyler.com.

“This museums event is always extremely popular,” said Beverly Abell of the City of Tyler’s Main Street Department. “One of Downtown Tyler’s best-kept secrets is the marvelous array of museums and cultural facilities we have in the heart of the city, and this event is one way we can share these treasures with the public.”
