3 Foods That Fight Sunburn
Like you, I get a lot of junk in my email. Most of it goes straight to the trash, but the headline on one of them I received yesterday caught my attention. It was about foods that help relieve the pain of a sunburn. I don't know that there is anything much worse than a really bad sunburn -- you know, the kind where it hurts to move! Here are three of the foods from the list that I was really surprised by ...
Potatoes
Turns out, the starchy compounds in potatoes help to take the sting out of sunburns. Cut a raw potato into slices and rub a piece on your most painful sunburn spots!
Strawberries
The berries tannin content can also reduce the sting of a sunburn. Mash up a few strawberries and lather it on sunburns for natural relief!
Lettuce
Lettuce can literally wipe away the pain of a sunburn. Boil lettuce in water. Strain and let the liquid cool for several hours in the fridge. Then, dip cotton balls in the water and wipe over your sunburn for relief!
Now, I must say, I have not tried any of these remedies, but you can bet the next time I get burned, I will give one or two of these a try!
