Oklahoma on Sunday became the first team ever to be ranked #1 in the AP football poll 100 times. The Sooners were ranked #1 for the first time in 1954, the second year of Oklahoma’s NCAA-record 47-game winning streak, which lasted from 1953-1957. They have spent at least one week in the top spot in 19 different seasons.
