Welcome to The East Texas Takeover! It's a digital "battle of the bands."  Each one of these local artists needs your vote in order to get some airplay on the East Texas Takeover!

Chris Cobb will count down the top three bands in this week's Takeover on the air at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 3.  Listen to each band, check out all their info and then cast your vote for your favorite band in this week's poll at the bottom of the page. Voting ends at 2 p.m. Friday March 2.  If you REALLY like one of these bands, share this post with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, etc., and get them to vote too!  Also, if you're a local band hoping to get your music on next week's East Texas Takeover, you can find all the info here on submitting your tracks to us.

3.  Beware - Nightmare

With a rebirth in summer of 2009, BEWARE is back on the Texas music scene. Originally started in the early ninety's, Beware has a new line up and is ready once again to rock some great tunes and bring it with a great live show. Consisting of two of the founding members, the brothers David Ray (bass) and Tony Ray (vocals), the band is now rounded out by Fernie on guitar and Bill "Junior" Bowman on drums. Hailing from Tyler, Texas, the band brings a number of influences to the table. With power metal riffs, catchy hooks and a hard driving beat, Beware is bringing music that just makes you want to rock out.

4.  Something Blue - Rock Bottom

Something Blue is a Rock/Southern Rock/Blues (We call it "Texas Rock") band from Tyler, TX. We've been together since about 2003 and have just recently added another vocalist, Daniel Wilson (Formerly of the local band "Never Say Tomorrow") , to our lineup.  The song "Rock Bottom" features Angelo Lopez on Bass Guitar, Chris Oliver on Drums, and Delano Guevara on vocals / guitar. It was recorded back in 2010 before Daniel joined us.

5.  Joanna's Band - Fight of Your Life

Powerful  vocals; songs that are edgy, entertaining and uplifting- that is the music of Joanna Endsley,  The gifted singer/song-writer crafts songs that will move you and delivers them with power and passion.

Joanna has been privileged to work with seasoned musicians including drummer/producer   Bobby Blotzer and Bassist/recording engineer Jeff Pilson of Foreigner.  Also honored to work with multi-platinum award winning drummer Mike Gage of Dallas Texas.

Joanna was recently voted best vocalist @ Longview’s ALLEYFEST for 2011 by PINEY WOODS MAGAZINE as well as being the featured “Artist We Love” in “IN” Magazine which is distributed to more than 500,000 parons in East Texas.  Also chosen as a 2011 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest Regional Round Finalist this year.  Her song, "If You Want Me To" was chosen by the Dallas Songwriters Association as a top 10 winner in the 2007 competition. Dallas Songwriters Association also awarded one of Joanna's newest releases "Save Me" as  semi-finalist in the 2011 song-writing competition. Her song, Look Away, was chosen for discmakers 2005 compilation CD. Joanna’s former band, Magdalene, also boasts their success as East Texas Battle of the Bands winner for 2006 and 2007.

Vocalist, Joanna Endsley, brings a vivid physicality to the vocals that are edgy, yet tasteful. Watching Joanna’s powerful and soulful delivery of the music keeps loyal fans coming back for more.

6.  This Day Forth - Defiance

This Day Forth is an up and coming progressive/alternative rock band based out of East Texas that consists of four very driven musicians which include David Wilson (guitars/lead vocals), Drew Pierce (drums), Mike Battiato (bass/vocals) and Travis Hull (guitars/vocals). They are influenced by bands such as Breaking Benjamin, Sick Puppies, Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Glassjaw, Adalitas Way, and Foo Fighters, but through originality they have been dubbed, “One of the four front bands on the scene in East Texas” by Sean Patrick, 96.1 The Rock of East Texas. With captivating tunes and piercing lyrics, this band will not soon be forgotten.
