Worst Way To Avoid “The Boot”

A British driver came up with a unique solution when he found a boot placed on his steering wheel by cops -- he set the car on fire!

Scott Smithers, who admitted to being a wee bit intoxicated at the time, initially tried to cut the device off with an axe. When that failed, he got a can of gasoline out of his trunk, doused the vehicle and set it ablaze.

Smithers had more than 20 outstanding parking tickets -- and a previous arrest for arson.
