12 Exciting Festivals And Events Around East Texas This Weekend
This could most likely be the busiest weekend of the entire year when it comes to festivals and events happening around East Texas. There is so much happening, from food and music at the Rose City Music Festival in Tyler to the Fire Ant Festival in Marshall to Oktoberfest in Kilgore, there is a lot to be a part of this weekend.
Plus it appears as if it's going to be another fabulous fall weekend. Another cool front will move in Thursday afternoon and bring cooler weather with highs around 70 and lots of sunshine all weekend and when it cools off even more in the evening it'll be a perfect time to visit the haunted trail in Longview or any other haunted house or trail in East Texas.

Piney Woods Fair - Nacogdoches

Nacogdoches County Exposition & Civic Center - Nacogdoches
The Pineywoods Fair wraps up fair season in East Texas with an agricultural and livestock show featuring competitions highlighting swine, goats, lambs, rabbits, heifer and more. There are educational exhibits and competitions and topped off with carnival rides and lots of fair food. It's your last opportunity of the season to get all that fried goodness!
Rose City Music Festival - Tyler

This multi-cultural food and music event will be on the red bricks of downtown Tyler. It will feature more than 15 East Texas restaurants sampling some of their best food and then the concerts kick in featuring performances from Whiskey Myers, Ludacris, Matt Koziol and DJ Shane Payne.
Fire Ant Festival - Marshall

The pesky ant that causes trouble will be the center of attention during this Marshall event complete with live music, a children's area with inflatables, a bike ride, a fun run and 5k, contests, vendors, and more!
Kilgore Oktoberfest

Downtown Tyler businesses celebrate 'Hit The Bricks' on the second Saturday of the month. Many businesses will be open and offering specials to patrons who stop by and support them. This weekend 'Hit The Bricks' is taken over by the Rose City Music Festival. Tickets are still available and the big event will get started at 2p on the square and will feature food vendors and live music from Whiskey Meyers, Ludacris and more.
Longview Haunted Trail

The City of Longview’s Parks and Recreation Department will host its first annual Haunted Trail event for the community this weekend.
Scheduled from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, the ticketed event will take attendees through a decorated trail in the wooded area between Jack Mann Splash Pad and KidsView Playground. The trail will be packed with decorations, displays and special guests hidden amongst the trees. Yard games, vendors, a free hayride and photo ops will be available as well.
Hopkins County Fall Festival

Hopkins County Civic Center - Sulphur Springs
The 54th annual Fall Festival Carnival is happening now. In addition to the carnival there will be a parade in support of homecoming, a crafts show, kids zone, the exhibit hall will be full of vendors and contests too
Mineola Mini Train

Ride the rails on the Zombie Express. This is a free event for the entire family to enjoy. Board the Zombie Express at the Iron Horse Square in downtown Mineola.
