Labor Day Weekend Events And Happenings Around In East Texas

Labor Day weekend 2024 is here! Labor Day was declared a national holiday in 1894 and is observed on the first Monday of September to honor and recognize the American Labor movement that grew from a violent clash between labor and police in Chicago in 1886 when thousands of workers took to the street demanding an eight-hour workday. Hopefully, you'll be able to enjoy the holiday on Monday and celebrate this weekend with friends and family as Labor Day serves as the unofficial end of summer. There will be many backyard barbecues, parades, and fun on the lake with some good people.

Plus, during the long three-day weekend, you can catch up on some home projects or go shopping at many of the Labor Day sales to save some money.

While you're gathering with friends and spending/saving money there are many things you can be a part of this weekend in East Texas. If you plan on having some fun on an East Texas lake - remember that life jacket - when worn properly it can save your life. It can't if its stored away under the bench seat!
