U.S. Postal Service Releasing First-Ever Scratch-and-Sniff Stamps
I'm not making this up folks! According to a news release issued May 21, the United States Postal Service is about to release its first-ever set of scratch-and-sniff stamps!
Called "Frozen Treats Forever," these stamps are said to evoke a sweet scent reminiscent of ice pops, ice cream and other summer flavors.
They will be issued in June, ushered in by a ceremony at the Thinkery Children's Museum in Austin. You can watch it live here, and afterward, pre-order yours here!
According to the USPS:
The stamps feature illustrations of frosty, colorful, icy pops on a stick. Today, Americans love cool, refreshing ice pops on a hot summer day. The tasty, sweet confections come in a variety of shapes and flavors.
They will be available in books, 20 stamps to a book, and are being issued as a First-Class Mail Forever stamp, so they will always be equal in value to the current First-Class one-ounce price.
