Tyler Shelter Dog Waiting Over 500 Days for Adoption
(Tyler, Texas) There are so many things to love about living here in East Texas, but one of my favorites has to be getting off work and going home to my dogs.
I’ve got two dogs that adopted me, my ‘princess’ Gypsy and Cooper-Dog! They were both rescues from here in Texas and their unconditional love make life better.
Recently, I was on social media and notice a dog here in Tyler that has been up for adoption for 500+ days, and it’s time we find Barret his forever home!
You Need to Meet Barret
First, I want to thank the team at Nicholas Pet Haven for taking care of Barret. This resilient dog was dumped on a cold January day and left for dead.
The team that found him and rescued him say there is no doubt that he was a bait dog, and it took months to recuperate from those horrible conditions.

Things You Need to Know About Barret
Because of his past Barret may be dog selective, so make sure to bring any other dogs you have so they can meet and see if it would be a good match.
This good boy is about 3 years old and loves to get out of his kennel to go on walks.
Barret Wants to Be YOUR Best Friend
Barret has made other dog friends, but he is looking for his forever best friend. Someone who will adopt him and give him all the kisses he deserves. He loves to give kisses too.
Maybe today is the day you end Barret’s 500+ day streak at the shelter.
