Tyler, Lindale, and Whitehouse Have Free Tax Help
You've got until the 18th to file your tax return this year, and the Lindale Library can help procrastinators get over the hump. A church in Tyler and another in Whitehouse will do the same.
AARP offers the free tax prep service every year, and while they focus on people over the age of 50 who can't afford tax prep elsewhere, the City of Tyler says on its website that the free tax prep is for anyone who wants it in most cases.
The Lindale Library at 200 East Hubbard Street will have folks on hand to help prepare tax returns this Thursday, April 13th, from 11am to 3pm. They've been doing this every Thursday since February, and this will be the last chance before next week's filing deadline to grab that free help.
The First Christian Church in Tyler is another spot that will offer free tax prep this week. You can find them at 4202 South Broadway, at Loop 323 and South Broadway, and they're doing taxes Monday (9am to 1pm), Tuesday (12:30pm to 4:30pm), and Saturday (9am to 1pm) this week.
Whitehouse United Methodist at 405 West Main will do taxes on Tuesday from 9am to 1pm.
Tax returns are due on the 18th this year because the 15th falls on a weekend, and there's a Washington DC holiday on the 17th. So enjoy the breathing room, and know there's free help if you need it. We hope your refund is huge!
