The Best Comments Left During The Longview And Kilgore Cable TV Outage
Longview and Kilgore Cable TV customers were relieved Saturday afternoon when they had their internet service restored. Customers could once again jump on social media, binge watch something from one of their favorite streaming services, and businesses could, well, conduct business.
It was Thursday afternoon around 4 in Longview and Kilgore when most of the cable company's customers lost internet service. This loss of service didn't appear to be Longview and Kilgore Cable TV's fault but was caused by an interruption of service from three of their providers, AT&T, Windstream and Level 3. Each of those companies suffered a catastrophic failure around the same time that caused the outage.
Of course, a lot of people and businesses rely on internet service for their jobs, schools, monitoring services and so much more and this kind of outage was concerning for all. The company was immediately flooded with calls and inquiries on when it would be restored. The loss of service at the same time also generated many conspiracy theories and had many wondering if it was intentional.
Customers attacked the provider on their social media page throughout the day as they were attempting to give regular updates on the situation. Many upset customers were demanding a credit be placed on their bill because they weren't able to get online. I can see this from both sides, the customer is paying for something and not receiving the service and at the same time it wasn't the company's fault that caused the outage. However, in the end, service was restored and Longview and Kilgore Cable TV says on its website that they will be making an announcement today (Monday, April 11th) about bill credits.
While this was all playing out on Facebook, I happened to take notice of the people who were taking it in stride and just going with the flow and not letting this loss of internet stop them or get them down. They had some of the funniest comments on the Facebook page. Check out some of their responses to other customers and the cable company too.
