Longview And Kilgore Cable TV Customers Continue To Suffer From Outage
What a week it has been for Longview residents. The hits just keep coming. First, the majority of the city lost water pressure due to a major water main break and much of the city remains under a boil water notice (as of April 8, 2022 at 10:36 a.m.) and now many cable and internet customers are without service or extremely slow speeds as of Thursday afternoon causing disruptions not only with residents but businesses as well.
In today's society and times, a lot of people are working from home and they rely on internet service to stay connected to the virtual office and to conduct business. However, that all came to a halt in Longview and Kilgore when Longview and Kilgore Cable TV suffered a catastrophic loss of internet service from three other companies that they lease circuits from on Thursday.
The trouble began yesterday afternoon as three circuits failed from different internet providers that the company leases from, AT&T, Windstream, and Level 3, according to the company's statement on Facebook. The company was quickly inundated with calls from customers about the outage. Longview and Kilgore Cable TV continues to work with these providers to restore service and continue to update their customers on their Facebook on the status of when service will be restored. At the time of this posting though, they still did not have an 'estimated time for restoration' leaving customers extremely frustrated.
This interruption in internet service affects so many people in so many different ways. Businesses can't conduct normal business, students can't attend class, employees can't work from home and others just can't surf the net or stream the show they were binging. During a time like this, you have to be patient and have faith that the company is doing what it can do to restore services.
Mixed in with all of the comments bashing the cable provider about service and requesting a credit on their bill are a few funny ones too - some I've heard of trying to do to restore service from other providers! Thanks, Amanda for the laugh with 'Try A, B, A, B, Left, Right, Up, Down, Start' - priceless.
