Getting A Tattoo In Texas Over Or Under The Age Of 18

Texas Health And Human Services state the legal requirements needed for an individual to get body art done. According to law, the artist can legally perform the tattooing to any person over the age of 18. However, if the individual is under the age of 18, there is a code they must follow before the action is done.

25 Texas Administrative Code, §229.406(c) declares that someone under the age 18 can get a tattoo, as long as the parent or legal guardian is there during the moment. More details on the code can be found here.
