Early voting is underway in Texas until November 1 and in the middle of this hotly contested election season, some folks are just now learning that Texas law states that you can't wear certain items when going to vote.

Take heed to what we're about to tell you because some folks didn't get the memo and reacted VIOLENTLY to being told about this.

Jesse Lutzenberger Was Arrested For Assaulting A Poll Worker In San Antonio.

According to KENS 5, a Texas man who wore a hat supporting former President Donald Trump was told by a poll worker that he had to remove his cap in the voting area, Lutzenberger did and proceeded to cast a ballot.

He then put the cap back on before leaving, followed by the clerk again telling him remove the hat while inside the building. As the clerk escorted him out of the library, Lutzenberger allegedly threw an elbow or arm back toward the clerk and then turned to punch him in the face multiple times.

The election worker, identified as a 69-year-old man, was treated at the scene and returned to his election post while Lutzenberger was arrested on felony charges of assaulting an elderly person and could face additional charges.

In Texas, you can’t wear clothing or a “similar communicative device” that has to do with a candidate, a measure or a political party, according to the Texas Secretary of State's Office. That applies even if the candidate or measure isn't in the election you're voting in past present or future.

Also, under Texas law, you can’t use a wireless communication device within 100 feet of voting stations. You also can’t use a mechanical or electronic device to record sound or images within 100 feet, that includes the following:

  • Cell phones
  • Cameras
  • Tablet computers
  • Laptop computers
  • Sound recorders
  • Any other device that may communicate wirelessly, or be used to record sound or images.

If you don’t keep the candidate's clothing at home, an election judge can enforce the law within 100 feet of the voting location entrance. That means they can make you remove or cover up whatever it is you’re wearing if you get too close to the voting site.

Be patient and stay calm, its not worth going to jail to go vote.
