(KNUE-FM) The cost of groceries has increased drastically not only in Texas but everywhere, inflation is hurting everyone’s bank account. Lately it seems like everyone is talking about the price of groceries going up, but it seems as though everything is costing more.

It’s fun to look at things from the past and compare them to life today, though grocery prices aren’t as fun to look back on as hair and clothing styles. Let’s be honest, we would love to see grocery prices like these again (although we know it’s never going to happen).

The Impact of Inflation on Everyday Life
If you look at the value of a dollar from 1925, with inflation, it would be worth around $17 today. As most of us know, the unfortunate part is that wages haven’t increased as quickly as inflation rates during that same amount of time.

How Convenience Changed the Way We Shop
Just about everyone would agree that life has become easier over the past 100 years. If we want a specific food delivered to our front door, we can make it happen with a couple of movements of our fingers, and it will happen quickly.
The variety of stores and products we have now compared to 100 years ago is incredible. We should all feel very fortunate, even if grocery store prices are much higher than they were 100 years ago.
