(KNUE-FM) Most Texans choose to live here in the Lone Star State because they enjoy life here. Not everything is perfect, but it’s a wonderful place to call home. That’s not the case for everyone, though. A new report shows that many Texans are asking Google how to ‘leave America.’

Texans Are Asking Google How to Leave America

According to a report from My San Antonio, some Texans are exploring what it would take to relocate out of the country. There was a report done last month by MoveBuddah that analyzed Google Trends to look at “emigration curiosity.” The website is so in-depth that it actually tracks user searches in real time.

Texas Ranks 15th for ‘Move Abroad’ Searches

When looking at all the data, Texas ranked 15th in the nation when it comes to people looking at options for “moving abroad” and “move overseas”. It was interesting to see that our neighbors in Oklahoma took the top spot for residents looking to move abroad.

Politics and Cost of Living Among Top Reasons

As you would expect, politics are a reason why some people are choosing to look at other options for where to live but there are other factors too. Some of the other reasons why people are looking into moving out of Texas include the growing population, job wages, cost of living, and education opportunities.

Having lived in multiple states myself, I believe you need to do what makes you happy. You will find wonderful things about where you live no matter where you choose, but don’t sit somewhere and be unhappy. Life is short. Make yourself happy. While I love it here in Texas, do whatever makes the most sense for you and your family.
