East Texas Daycare Worker Sentenced After Disturbing Videos

(KNUE-FM) A former East Texas daycare worker has now found out her punishment for pushing and kicking toddlers under her care. There were 21 instances involving children, some under the age of 2, who were kicked in the lower back by the daycare worker.

According to CBS 19, Catherine Guziejka entered a guilty plea in September to a charge of injury to a child with the intent to cause bodily injury. She recently found out that she will be spending the next 10 years of her life in prison.

What Happened Inside the Lindale Daycare

The court documents show that these assaults took place in 2024 from July to October. Parents and staff reviewed video surveillance from classrooms at Punkin’ Doodles Day Care in Lindale, and Guziejka was arrested soon after, in October 2024.

Disturbing Video Footage Shows Abuse

The videos showed that often times the kids would just be watching TV shows and Guziejka would come from behind the child and kick them in the lower back.

Other videos showed children napping as she aggressively moved them, including yanking one by the arm and dragging them to a changing table.

The videos continued to show aggressive behavior — pushing children’s heads down and forcing them to face the wall as toddlers tried to watch TV.
