Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has revealed that Staind guitarist Mike Mushok has jumped aboard his new musical project, Newsted. Even though Staind's career has spanned 17 years, they have never released an official live disc. That all changed on July 10th when 'Live From Mohegan' was released. The exciting part is - a DVD/Blu-Ray is due out on August 14th! The video contains footage from their headlining show back in November of 2011 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.

Aaron Lewis has taken time away from Staind in the past, but the fact that the group is calling their upcoming break a “hiatus” initially raised a few eyebrows, especially given that they finished their last album with longtime drummer Jon Wysocki leaving the band.
