Eric Clapton's 'Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013 will be available on DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow (Nov 19). They've released a video of the Allman Brothers Band doing Whipping Post at the guitar festival. Check it out!

The insurance website www.confused.com, has published a list of songs that might prove dangerous while driving.  According to the article, "it seems rock music is the most dangerous music genre to listen to if you want to stay safe on the road."  Making the top 5 on their list of offending songs is Guns and Roses, Paradise City.

Next month California auction house Profiles In History will include a rare Eddie Van Halen guitar.  The battle ax is Eddie's 1982 Kramer Frankenstrat.  There were only eight of the handmade guitars built.  The guitar is not unique only because of the limited number in existent but due to its use on the "1984" album and during the Van Halen tour 1982-1984.

.38 Special will be at Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City, La., on Nov. 8.  I had the opportunity to visit with 26-year band member Danny Chauncey on the phone. PBS American Masters is hosting a live Twitter Q&A tonight.  The twitter event centered around the "American Masters: Jimi Hendrix - Hear My Train A Comin'".  The conversation will include Jimi's sister, sound engineer Eddie Kramer and the director and producer of the show.  You can see a bit of the video here.

This past weekend I visited my brother-in-law, Ryan who has been refurbishing an old school analogue Pioneer stereo receiver.  IT'S DONE!  The stereo receiver is a Pioneer SX 535.  He also tracked down some cool vintage speakers to pair with the unit.

One of the most elusive things about learning to fly is LANDING! Airplanes are not particularly good ground vehicles so converting them from flying vehicles to ground vehicles when you land requires knowledge, skill and a gut observation of what is happening each time.  The circumstances surrounding each landing is different.  A lot of pilots view it as a challenge.
